The Lady of Hope 7th grade boys’ basketball team from Portland won three games at a recent AAU tournament in Virginia and got a chance to visit the nation’s capital. The team defeated squads from Maryland, Lousiana and New York and had close losses to teams from Kentucky, Long Island and Pennsylvannia.
“We beat the two best teams we faced and competed in every contest,” said coach Peter Buckly. “I’m extremely proud of all the boys.”
