NEWRY — Rally cars are wrapping up the fifth race in the Rally America National Championship series in western Maine.
The New England Forest Rally at Sunday River ski resort featured race-prepared cars zooming along dirt roads and through forests. The final events were being held Saturday.
The rally car event features a driver and navigator racing along scenic logging roads, winding creeks and one-lane bridges at speeds that can top 100 mph.
The annual event is a crowd pleaser, drawing thousands of spectators.
