A British woman who went missing Saturday on Mount Desert Island has been found unharmed.

Janet Post, 81, of London was located by Maine game wardens at about 10 a.m. Sunday.

She went missing on a walk with two male cousins near their summer home at 5:45 p.m. Saturday. The warden service was called in to search for her at 7 p.m.

Post and her cousins walked the one-third mile foot path from their summer home at 279 Beech Hill Road to the shore of Long Pond.

Post left the pond at 5:45 p.m. to return home, followed by her cousins about five minutes later. When the cousins returned home, Post was not there, officials said.

Post was found about a half-mile from where she was last seen by her cousins. She said she inadvertentlyy got off the foot path. She spent the night in the woods and made her way to the shoreline Sunday morning where she was spotted by a search aircraft.

She needed no medical attention.

Meanwhile, wardens are continuing to search for a woman who went missing on the Appalachian Trail. Wardens say 66-year-old Geraldine Largay of Brentwood, Tenn., was supposed to meet her husband last Monday in Wyman Township but never showed up.
