BRUNSWICK – Emily Bouchard of Saco shot a second-round 77 on Tuesday to take the lead in the Maine Women’s Amateur golf championships at the Brunswick Golf Club.
Bouchard, 23, has a two-day total of 157, two strokes better than Lori Frost, who also shot a 77 on Tuesday.
They will be joined by 17-year-old Monica Austin of Yarmouth in the lead group. Austin shot an 81 for the second consecutive day for a 162.
Bouchard birdied three holes on Tuesday but her day ended with a double bogey on the 9th, a hole she feels she should birdie.
“I played well, hit the ball great,” she said. “So I’m not completely disappointed, just a little frustrated because I know what I can be on this course.”
