ROCKLAND — The 66th annual Maine Lobster Festival is drawing to a close after five days of festivities.

The Rockland festival kicked off Wednesday and comes to an end at 6 p.m. Sunday.

About 100,000 people show up each year, gobbling up more than 20,000 pounds of lobster.

Beside lobster, the festival features music, cooking contests, a carnival, U.S. Coast Guard station tours, a sea goddess coronation, a parade and a lobster crate race where contestants run across lobster crates floating in the water.
