SCARBOROUGH — A Steep Falls man died Saturday night at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway, about an hour after racing concluded.

Scarborough Police Detective Sgt. Rick Rouse said Gregory Rowe, 47, fell under a race car trailer being towed by a truck, possibly as he straddled the tongue of the trailer. The incident occurred about 11:30 p.m.

Efforts to revive Rowe, a crew member of the the race team of Sally Gherardi, were unsuccessful. He was declared dead at the track and his death is considered accidental, Rouse said.
