WARWICK, R.I. — Rhode Island authorities have identified a woman and a 3-year-old boy who were found dead in a car parked at an apartment complex.

Warwick police say officers found 39-year-old Kathleen Frink and her son Ryan in the car Saturday evening at the Fairfax Village complex. Police say they lived in another part of Warwick.

It’s not clear how Frink and her son died. Autopsies are planned. Police say there didn’t appear to be any foul play or trauma to the victims, but didn’t elaborate.

Police say the car apparently had been idling for several hours. Authorities say the car may have been parked at the complex since about noon Saturday and someone heard what sounded like a child crying at about 5 p.m., but didn’t call police.
