BANGOR — Sunny skies are on tap as the American Folk Festival gets under way in earnest with music, dance and performing arts along Bangor’s waterfront.
The festival, which runs through Sunday, features everything from blues and zydeco to salsa Chinese opera. There’s also music from Nepal and dance from Andes mountains.
The festival also includes dance, crafts, food and demonstrations.
Bangor was the host of the 64th, 65th and 66th National Folk Festivals from 2002 to 2004. In 2005, the American Folk Festival was introduced as a continuation, and this is the 12th event.
