WEST PARIS — An 89-year-old Rumford man has died after crashing his pickup truck into a tractor-trailer on a western Maine highway.

Maine State Police say Jean Bolduc was driving on Route 26 in West Paris at about 11 a.m. Wednesday when his truck drifted into the oncoming lane and crashed into the rear wheels of an oncoming truck driven by 56-year-old Bradley Durgin of Lewiston.

Police say Bolduc was pinned in his vehicle for a short time before being taken to Stephens Memorial Hospital in Norway, where he was pronounced dead.

Police don’t know what caused Bolduc to drive into the oncoming lane, but say speed and alcohol don’t appear to be factors.
