CUMBERLAND – Jocelyn Mitiguy scored twice and Maggie Reed had an assist Saturday to lead Greely to a 2-0 victory against Fryeburg Academy in a Western Maine Conference schoolgirl soccer opener.

Elyse Dinan finished with three saves for Greely.

FALMOUTH 4, GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 0: Megan Miller had a goal and an assist as the Yachtsmen won an opener at Falmouth.

Tyler Spence, Miller and Taylor Russell scored in the first half. Mia Cooney added a second-half goal. Mary Catherine Kowalsky set up two goals and Brianna Russell also had an assist.

Maggie Seitz stopped three shots for Falmouth. Anna Knapp made 22 saves for the Patriots.

SCARBOROUGH 8, SOUTH PORTLAND 0: Hadlee Yescott assisted on three first-half goals, then scored four of the five second-half goals in an opener at Scarborough.

Katherine Kirk, Sam Sparda and Aly Atherton scored the first-half goals, and Margareta Ianosi-Irimie added a goal and an assist. Morgan Rodway also had two assists.

Sydney Martin made three saves for the shutout. Emma Russell stopped 17 shots for the Red Riots.

WINDHAM 12, MCAULEY 0: Louisa Spardella and Emma Gorvin scored twice each as Windham won an opener at Portland.

Kate Kneeland made six saves for the shutout. Gordyn Carr stopped 19 shots for McAuley.

FIELD HOCKEY

KENNEBUNK 3, FREEPORT 0: Ellie Perkins, Jackie Murphy and Ashley Houston scored in the second half for the Rams (2-0) against the Falcons (0-2) at Freeport.

Olivia Kudas made two saves for Kennebunk. Morgan Karnes and Bri Bellfleur combined for eight saves for Freeport.

SCARBOROUGH 5, MASSABESIC 1: Maggie Carbin, Kristen Levesque, Kristen Murray, Abby Walker and Maddie Dobecki scored as the Red Storm (2-0) downed Massabesic (1-1) at Scarborough.

Mia Kuni scored for Massabesic with the only one of the six shots to get past Scarborough goalie Alyssa Souza. Kelley Wescott stopped 11 shots for the Mustangs.

WINDHAM 2, PORTLAND 1: Hannah Skvorak put back a rebound midway through the second half for the winning goal as the Eagles (1-1) beat Portland (1-1) at Windham.

Portland goalie Gianna Gaudet kicked Aleia Ansin’s shot out to the right, but Skvorak, waiting with her stick on the ground, popped the ball back into the near side for a 2-1 lead.

Taylor Sargent converted Lauren McIntyre’s assist for a 1-0 Bulldogs lead with 12:40 left in the first half. Morgan Richmond tied it five minutes later from Skvorak.

Tyra Boucher made five saves for Windham. Gaudet finished with 16 saves.
