WELLESLEY, Mass – Katie Riley scored with 15 seconds left in regulation during a scramble in front of the net, lifting Bowdoin to a 1-0 field hockey win over Wellesley and giving Coach Nicky Pearson her 250th victory.

Meaghan Dwan assisted on the goal. Hannah Gartner made two saves for the Polar Bears (2-0) to earn her first career shutout.

Brit Mscisz made seven saves for the Blue (3-1).

MAINE 5, QUINNIPIAC 2: Nicole Seavey had three goals and two assists as the Black Bears (2-3) beat the Bobcats (1-3) at Hamden, Conn.

Annabelle Hamilton added two goals and Sydney Veljacic had two assists.

ST. JOSEPH’S 6, JOHNSON & WALES 0: Effie Drew scored a pair of goals and also had an assist as the Monks (3-0) downed the Wildcats (0-4) at Providence, R.I.

Meghan Williams, Rachelle Messuri and Carley Denis added a goal and an assist apiece for the Monks.


UNE 1, WELLESLEY 0: Jackie Dickerson scored in the 19th minute and the Nor’easters (2-2) held off the Blue (1-3) at Wellesley, Mass.

Brielle Robinson made three saves to record the shutout.

MAINE 1, WAGNER 1: Jordan Pellerin scored in the 62nd minute for the Black Bears (3-1-1) off a cross from Camille Varin-Tremblay, but the Seahawks (4-0-1) got the equalizer eight minutes later for a draw at Staten Island, N.Y.

Lauren Swant had four saves for the Black Bears.


SMCC 4, EMCC 2: The Seawolves (2-2, 1-1 YSCC) took the lead on an own goal by the Golden Eagles (0-1-1, 0-1-1) in a win at South Portland.

Kyle Stiefken, Nicholas Orma and Talal Alzefiri scored for Southern Maine CC, which twice rallied from one-goal deficits.


SMCC SWEEPS CMCC: Rob Hamilton sparked a six-run second with an RBI triple and Dan French struck out nine of the 14 batters he faced, leading the Seawolves (2-1, 2-0 YSCC) to a 10-1 win over the Mustangs (0-2, 0-2) in the opener of a doubleheader at South Portland.

In Game 2, Corey Mongiat, Tim Andersen, Deion Stewart and Ryan Riordan combined to throw a two-hitter with 10 strikeouts as Southern Maine CC cruised to a 15-0 win in five innings.
