COMMITTEE members discuss the purchase of food for the Bath Area Food Bank.

BATH

Proceeds from the Neighbor Helping Neighbor Family Festival held Aug. 17 were delivered to the board of the Bath Area Food Bank this week.

Arlene Whitney and Myrtle Hicks gave a $3,883 check to Food Bank Treasurer Bill Emerson. There was an additional $545 in checks made out to the food bank from the boxed luncheon auction and letter drive that brought the total associated with the festival to $4,428.

Purchasing food from the Good Shepherd Food Bank costs 16 cents per pound, so the festival proceeds will purchase more than 13 tons of food.

The committee consisted of Arlene Whitney, Diane Longley, Cathy Leonard, Eunice Leach, Caelie Smith, Ken Young, and Sherry Masters.

To make a donation to the food bank, send a check in any amount to P.O. Box 65, Bath 04530. Volunteers are also needed.

For information on volunteering, email director@bathfoodbank.org.
