NAPLES – Destiny Durant scored unassisted at 19:30 of the first period Wednesday and Lake Region went on to a 1-0 victory against Kennebunk in a Western Maine Conference field hockey game.

The Lakers (2-1) took 14 shots on goal while holding the Rams (2-1) without a scoring opportunity.

FALMOUTH 1, GREELY 0: Sydney Bell scored with 14:54 remaining off a scramble in front, lifting the Yachtsmen (3-0) over the Rangers (1-2) in a game at Falmouth that was shortened by eight minutes because of lightning.

Leika Scott and Mikey Richards assisted, and Hillary Nash needed one save for the shutout.

Sabrina Thompson stopped seven shots for Greely.

FRYEBURG ACADEMY 8, FREEPORT 1: Nicole Thurston scored three goals to lead the Raiders (2-1) over Freeport (0-3) at Fryeburg.

Mackenzie Hill added two goals for Fryeburg, which led 5-1 at halftime. Allison Watson, Skye Dole and Rya Davis added a goal apiece.

Olivia Bubar scored for the Falcons.

YARMOUTH 4, SACOPEE VALLEY 0: Kallie Hutchinson scored three goals, Katie Overhaug had two assists and the Clippers (2-0) beat the Hawks (0-2) at Yarmouth.

Hutchinson started the scoring just 1:30 in, then added two second-half goals. Emma Peterson added a goal with 6:50 to play.

Victoria Messina made three saves for the shutout. Chloe Ronco made 15 stops for Sacopee.

YORK 8, GRAY-NEW GLOU-CESTER 0: Taylor Simpson scored four goals to lead the Wildcats (3-0) over Gray-New Gloucester (0-3) at York.

Lily Posternak added two goals, and Kathleen Cronin and Devon Datsis also scored.

TUESDAY’S GAME

MT. VIEW 8, LINCOLN ACADEMY 0: Reanna Boulay scored three-first half goals and four overall to lift the Mustangs (1-2) over Lincoln Academy (0-3).

Braley Leadbetter added a goal and three assists.
