ELLSWORTH – Courthouse Gallery Fine Art will present work from artists Paul Hannon, William Irvine, Ed Nadeau and John Neville in the exhibition “The Untold Story,” which opens Wednesday and runs through Oct. 20.

An artists’ reception will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the gallery, 6 Court St. The event is free and open to the public.

The exhibit offers a variety of narrative paintings from these artists. Their paintings cover a range of moods, from the lonesome stretch of highway in Nadeau’s “Two Bridges and a Road” and the empty streets in Hannon’s “Pedestrian” to the freewheeling dancing fish in Neville’s “Tango” and the apprehension of gloomy skies in Irvine’s “Leaving the Harbor, Scotland.”

The paintings all hint of something about to happen or something that has just happened.

The gallery offers a wide range of fine art displayed in Ellsworth’s historic courthouse, a restored 1832 Greek revival building with more than 4,000 square feet of gallery space.

The gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday to Saturday and noon to 4 p.m. Sunday.
