FARMINGTON – Evan Fencik and Audrey Phillips each had a goal as Bowdoin blanked UMaine–Farmington in a women’s soccer game on Sunday.

Bridget McCarthy and Casey Krause combined on the shutout for Bowdoin (2-0-1), which had a 25-1 advantage in shots and a 14-1 advantage in corner kicks.

Farmington goalkeepers Beth Lebel and Amy Jones combined to make seven saves.

MAINE 0, RICHMOND 0: Lauren Swant made four saves to record her third shutout of the season for the Black Bears (3-2-2), as they played to an overtime draw against the Spiders (2-4-2) in Richmond, Va.

The Black Bears outshot Richmond 16-9, including a 5-2 advantage in the extra sessions.

BRANDEIS 3, BATES 0: Anabel Schmelz finished with a career-high 12 saves for the Bobcats (2-2), as they fell to the Judges (5-0) at Waltham, Mass.

FIELD HOCKEY

MAINE 6, BROWN 0: The Black Bears (3-4) got two goals apiece from Annabelle Hamilton, Holly Stewart and Marissa Shaw as they cruised past the Bears (2-2) in the Catamount Field Hockey Classic in Burlington, Vt.

Sydney Veljacic and Cassidy Svetek each collected an assist for the Black Bears, who had a 45-3 advantage in shots.

Maine keeper Natasha Ford made one save to record her first career shutout.

SOFTBALL

SMCC SWEEPS EMCC: Amber Jones and Charlotte Lewis each doubled during an eight-run fourth inning and the Seawolves (3-1, 3-1) held on for a 12-10 win over the Golden Eagles (1-5, 1-3) in the opener of a YSCC doubleheader at South Portland.

SMCC won 11-2 in the nightcap, behind three hits and three RBI by Danielle Mobbs.

BASEBALL

SMCC 9, EMCC 2: Rob Hamilton went 4-for-4 with a double and three RBI and Pat Emanuelson added three hits as the Seawolves (4-2, 3-1) downed the Golden Eagles (6-1, 0-3) in a Yankee Small College Conference game at South Portland.

Corey Mongiat got the win on the mound for the Seawolves.
