BRUNSWICK — Marcia B. Mead, 93, died Sept. 22, at Parkview Medical Center.

She was born in Portland, June 13, 1920, the daughter of Stanley and Ada Hoklotubbe. She graduated from Deering High School.

Mead married Curtiss D. Mead on Oct. 6, 1953, and traveled extensively with her husband during his military career. They lived in Florida, Panama and Bermuda before settling in Brunswick in 1958. Her husband died June 22, 1991.

Mead worked at Springer’s Jewelry in Bath, Sears & Roebuck and the former Band Box Cleaners. She enjoyed making crafts, being active with People Plus, traveling on senior bus trips and watching golf and the Patriots.

She is survived by her son, David Stilphen and wife Dawn, of Brunswick; three grandchildren, Troy, Shana and Scott, and four great-grandchildren.

A graveside funeral service was held at Maine Veterans Cemetery, Augusta, with the Rev. Mark Rockwood officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Coastal Humane Society, 30 Range Road, Brunswick, ME 04011. Arrangements are in the care of Brackett Funeral Home, 29 Federal St., Brunswick.
