TOPSHAM — The Mt. Ararat Middle School eighth-grade boys soccer team earned a split in recent action.
In a 4-0 win over Bath, Nick Merrill had two goals and one assist, Gavin Patterson a score and assist, and Matt Lawrence a goal.
Thomas Dau, Devin Haskins, Ian Fallier and Kevin Bolduc played strong defensive games, and Cam Grant handled the net in the shutout.
In a 2-1 loss to Auburn, Gavin Valade scored the lone Eagles goal on a direct kick from right outside the box.
Blair Kopp and Grant split the time in net and came up with some nice saves.
Patterson, Dalton Streeter, Merrill, Devin Haskins and Dau all had strong games for the visitors.
