SACO — Amanda Arnold assisted on all four goals Tuesday as Thornton Academy posted a 4-0 win over Massabesic in an SMAA girls’ soccer game.

Meg Hurrell and Allie Coburn scored the first two goals for the Trojans (12-1-1). Haley DaGraca twice took through balls in the second-half to beat the keeper one-on-one.

Lexi Nason stopped both shots she faced for Thornton. Alyssa Wardwell had 16 saves in net for the Mustangs. (6-7-1).

DEERING 2, SANFORD 1: Simone Lature had a goal and an assist as the Rams (10-3-1) beat the Spartans (3-11) at Sanford.

Lature set up Ewa Varney 6 minutes into the match for the Rams’ first goal. Laura Fink tied the score 6 minutes later assisted by Morgan Fogg. Lature provided the winner for the Rams with 25:29 left in the half.

Sanford keeper Aisling Tiernan finished with 21 saves. Deering goalie Lee Ann Downs saved 15.

BRUNSWICK 3, MT. ARARAT 2: Anna Cowan scored twice as the Dragons (9-4-1) edged the Eagles (12-2) in Brunswick.

Madeline Cowan also scored for Brunswick. Kassidy Scarponi, Caley Nicholson and Julia Chanpagne had assists. Libby Ouelette and Christine Levesque scored for the Eagles.

Haley Murano stopped 11 shots for the Dragons, and Kate Guerin three for Mt. Ararat.

SACOPEE VALLEY 11, OLD ORCHARD BEACH 1: Kayla Brown scored three goals, and Courtney Ryan two, as the Hawks (6-8) dominated the Seagulls (1-13) in Hiram.

Mckenzie Murphy, Abby Hughes, Courtney Miniutti, Amanda James, Becca Mosson and Katie Tims also scored for Sacopee, and Abby Dubois for the Seagulls.

Madison Day played the first half in net for Sacopee Valley and had one save. Hannah Manchester had three saves in the second half. Tiffany Leclair stopped 15 for OOB.

MARSHWOOD 3, SOUTH PORTLAND 1: Hannah Folger gained control of a free kick and fired an 18-yarder low into the far corner to give the Hawks (10-4) a 2-1 lead over the Red Riots (2-11-1) with 10 minutes left to play in South Portland.

Lydia St. Pierre added the final goal two minutes later.

South Portland took a 1-0 lead two minutes into the game when Sam Munson converted a pass from Akadia Higgins, but Tanya Thomas countered for the Hawks two minutes later.

Macy Morrison finished with six saves for Marshwood; Emma Russell eight for South Portland.

BIDDEFORD 2, PORTLAND 1: Logan Kadlec dribbled down the left side and scored the scored the winning goal unassisted as the Tigers (10-3-1) nipped the Bulldogs (5-7-2) at Biddeford.

The Bulldogs took the lead midway through the first half on an unassisted goal from Kate Johnson. Biddeford’s Shaina Speight scored on a first-half penalty kick to tie the match.

Tigers keeper Olivia Curtis had seven saves, and Bulldogs goalie Zoe Rivera handled 15.

GORHAM 3, CHEVERUS 0: Emily Lewis scored twice and Meghan Cushing once as the Rams (10-4) topped the Stags (4-8-2) in Gorham.

Abbie LaPorte assisted on two goals, Morgan Cushing one.

Gorham goalie Emma Smith stopped all 10 shots she faced. Anna Niedermeyer had 16 saves for the Stags.

OCEANSIDE 1, WATERVILLE 0: Ashley Gardner scored an unassisted goal with 30 minutes left in the second half as the Windjammers handed the Panthers their first loss of the season, in Waterville.

Kaylyn Trussell had two saves for Waterville (13-1-0). Kaylyn Grover had 10 saves for Oceanside (10-3-1).
