ORONO, Maine – Zarko Valjarevic scored 19 points Sunday and led four Maine players in double figures for a 111-64 victory over Fisher College of the NAIA.

Maine netted 10 of its 20 three-point shots and shot 59.5 percent from the field. Four other Black Bears finished with double figures– Dimitry Akanda-Coronel (17), Erik Nissen (16), Shaun Lawton (12) and Troy Reid Night (12). Nissen led with a game-high nine rebounds.

Fisher College started slow, making just one 3-pointer on 12 attempts (8.3 percent) in the first half. The Eagles finished 9 of 31 (29 percent) from behind the arc. Tyler Shular hit four 3-pointers, and scored a game-high 20 points for Fisher.

The Black Bears endured a disappointing loss (97-77) to the University of Rhode Island earlier this week in their season opener.
