Police are investigating the death of a 27-year-old man who was killed when his pickup truck went out of control and landed in a river.
The Lincoln County Sheriff ’s Department says Steven Parlin, of Jefferson, lost control of his pickup truck on Dock Road in Alna at about 9:45 p.m. Friday.
The truck crashed into a guardrail and tree before landing in the Sheepscot River, where it sank.
Officials say Parlin was dead by the time responders arrived.
Wiscasset Ambulance Service and the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office responded, recovering Parlin’s body and searching for other victims in water that was cold and fast-moving. Wiscasset fire officials also assisted in the search.
