Chellie Pingree and Virginia Manuel, an official from the USDA’s office of Rural Development, will be on hand to celebrate the Plant Home’s successful bid to expand its assisted living facility at 1 Washington Street. 

The City Council gave final approval to the Plant Home’s construction of a 50,000 square foot addition with 45 units of senior care, more than doubling the facility’s current capacity. 

Pingree and Manuel will join executive director Don Capaldo and many of the facility’s current residents on Monday at 10 a.m.  The public is welcome to attend.
