BOWDOINHAM — Robert Roy Emmerson of Bowdoinham, Maine, died Friday, Nov. 8, 2013, at the age of 65.
Rob, or Bob as he was known to many, was born in Topsham on Nov. 23, 1947, the son of Roy and Margaret Emmerson, and grew up in Bowdoinham. He attended Bowdoinham Elementary School and Brunswick High School, graduating with the class of 1965.
In May of 1968, Rob married June Ruth Seeger, of New Jersey. They enjoyed 45 years of marriage to one another, and had two children, Dean and Dawn.
Having served in the Air Force after high school, and with a young and growing family, Rob entered the Civil Service in 1970. He worked for 35 years with the Internal Revenue Service until 2005, when he and June retired.
Rob is survived by his wife June, his daughter Dawn and her husband Dan Estela, his son Dean and his wife Caroline Holden Emmerson, and three grandchildren, who were the joy of his later years; Carson and Avery Estela, and Natalie Emmerson, and his sister Carol and her husband Harry C. Prout.
There will be no service but the family thanks his friends and acquaintances for their kind regards.
Rob was an active person, with a love of the outdoors. He valued family above all.
Arrangements are by Stetson’s Funeral Home, 12 Federal St., Brunswick.
