WATERVILLE — A city woman was arrested after she cut a 15-year-old girl on the forehead with a pocket knife during a fight Wednesday night, according to police.

Linsey Soucy, 19, was arrested after she cut the girl on Libby Court, according to Charles Rumsey, deputy chief of Waterville police. The girl showed up at Libby Court with a friend after she and Soucy had some kind of disagreement, Rumsey said.

“There has been bad blood between them in the past,” Rumsey said. “They communicated earlier that night about meeting.”

The two started fighting before Soucy produced a pocket knife and cut the girl, Rumsey said. He did not release the victim’s name.

The girl left the area and drove back to her house before going to MaineGeneral’s Thayer Center for Health. She received stitches for a cut above her right eye that was several inches long, Rumsey said.

After the responding officer spoke with Soucy and others at Libby Court, Soucy was arrested and charged with aggravated assault, a Class B felony. She was taken to Kennebec County jail after failing to make $500 cash bail, Rumsey said.

Soucy is scheduled to appear Dec. 10 in Kennebec County Superior Court.
