BANGOR — Maine residents can eat local food, hear music and learn more about the state’s farmers at the Maine Harvest Festival this weekend.

The third annual event is kicking off at the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor on Saturday and continues on Sunday.

More than 125 Maine farmers and producers will be featured at the event sponsored in part by the Maine Department of Agriculture.

Organizers say the new, bigger venue means there will be more to see at this year’s festival. It will feature live music and presentations and tastings. Attendees will also be able to learn about agriculture and healthy eating.

Organizers recommend bringing a cooler to make sure any temperature-sensitive purchases can be transported home safely.
