BATH

Bath police charged a man with assault after he allegedly knocked the hat off another driver and drove away after a confrontation stemming from an alleged road rage incident Thursday afternoon.

Bath police Lt. Robert Savary said Francisco Valle, 32, of Freeport allegedly cut off another driver on Judkins Avenue, then got out of his vehicle and confronted the other driver, a woman, and “swiped at her and struck her hat off her head. And he clipped her facial area in doing so, and then he left the scene.”

Reported shortly before 4 p.m. Thursday, Savary said the alleged victim gave police license plate information and a description of the car.

Valle was later located on U.S. Route 1 in Brunswick. He was stopped and issued a summons by Brunswick police charging him with operating after suspension. Bath police then issued him a summons charging him with misdemeanor assault.
