AUGUSTA (AP) — Maine’s largest utility is gearing up for a storm that is expected to bring lots of rain and wind to the area.
Central Maine Power Co. said Tuesday that utility trucks are ready and staff has been working on response plans for the storm that is expected to affect the area today and into Thanksgiving Day.
About 48,500 CMP customers lost power earlier this week as wind knocked over trees and disrupted power lines.
The company is encouraging residents to keep battery operated flashlights and radios nearby in case power is lost.
It says when using emergency heating sources, like a wood stove, to make sure to the space is ventilated properly.
