AUGUSTA — A Dresden man will plead not guilty to unrelated misdemeanor charges after being accused of two pharmacy robberies in 48 hours.
Ryan McLaughlin, 26, of Dresden, appeared Nov. 22 in Augusta District Court via video from jail, charged with robbing the Osco Pharmacy inside Shaw’s Supermarket on Nov. 11 and 13, plus unrelated charges of burglary, theft, forgery and failure to appear in court.
Judge Beth Dobson set $30,000 cash bail on the robbery charges and separate bail of $1,000 cash on the misdemeanors.
The judge did not take a plea from McLaughlin’s court-appointed defense attorney on the robbery charges.
Police say McLaughlin admitted to the robberies when questioned at the FBI office in Portland on Nov. 14.
McLaughlin was arrested in Portland after police and FBI agents learned McLaughlin and his pregnant girlfriend had been driven there by a relative and were staying at a hotel there.
McLaughlin is a suspect in a burglary and theft at G&E Roofing in Augusta, and faces warrants charging him with receiving stolen property and forgery.
