Conway fundraiser upcoming
A fundraiser for Deering High School’s Brendan Conway Scholarship Fund will be held Saturday, Nov. 30, from 12 to 3 p.m. at Bingas Stadium in Portland.
There will be a raffle that will include gift certificates to restaurants, autographed sports memorabilia and more. There will also be T-shirts for sale for $20 with all proceeds going to the fund.
McAuley basketball clinic upcoming
Three-time defending Class A girls’ basketball state champion McAuley is holding a three-week Sunday Basketball Program Dec. 1, 8 and 15. The clinic is run by Lions coach Billy Goodman and varsity players. The first 45 minutes each week are devoted to drills and fundamentals with the final 45 minutes reserved for games. Girls in grades 3-5 go from 9 to 10:30 a.m., while girls in grades 6-8 go from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. The cost is $15 per week or $40 for the three weeks. The cost includes a T-shirt and free admission to a McAuley game. FMI, linda.freeman@mcauleyhs.org.
