AUGUSTA — A special tree is being placed in the State House for the holidays to honor Maine’s military service members and veterans.
The Tree of Honor that will be on display in the Capitol building’s Hall of Flags will be raised and decorated on Friday.
The tree will be decorated with ornaments on which visitors can write the name of a service member or veteran they want to honor.
Boy Scout Troup 111, Tri-County Mental Health Services and AmeriCorps Vista teamed up to organize the tree this year.
