BANGOR — Kyle Wilson scored 24 points to help Army beat Maine 90-80 on Friday night.

Kevin Ferguson had 15 points and six rebounds for the Black Knights (2-6). Mo Williams had 11 points.

Maine (1-7) was led by Xavier Pollard with 19 points. Troy Reid-Knight and Garet Beal each scored 11.

Maine shot 51 percent from the field in the first half and only trailed Army 46-44 at the break. The Black Knights used a 19-6 run in the first six minutes of the second half to take a 65-50 advantage.

Army outrebounded Maine by only four rebounds, 37-33, but 14 of those were offensive rebounds as Army scored 25 second-chance points compared to four for the Black Bears.

Maine cut the lead to 83-75 with 1:41 left, but Army made 9 of 10 free throws to ice the game.

BOWDOIN 59, UM-FARMINGTON 53: Keegan Pieri paced Bowdoin with 14 points as the Polar Bears (9-0) edged the University of Maine-Farmington (4-5) at Brunswick.

Bowdoin took the lead for good on a 3-point basket by Grant White with 3:13 left in the contest. The Polar Bears trailed 51-46 with 5:15 left but went on a 9-0 run as Andrew Madlinger netted two 3-pointers sandwiched around White’s game-winner. Madlinger added two free throws down the stretch along with two from Matt Mathias to ice the game.

Madlinger and John Swords both finished with 13 points. Mathias had 12 points.

The Beavers got 17 points from Andrew Dickey and 16 from Pet Sumner.

(16) MEMPHIS 73, ARKANSAS-LITTLE ROCK 59: Shaq Goodwin scored 17 points and the host Tigers (7-1) rallied over the Trojans (3-6).

Joe Jackson also had 17 points for the Tigers, but was 3 of 11 from the field. Memphis was tied with Arkansas-Little Rock with under seven minutes to play, but the Trojans faded down the homestretch.

(21) COLORADO 80, ELON 63: Spencer Dinwiddie scored 17 points and the Buffaloes won their 10th straight after losing their opener to Baylor.

Sebastian Koch scored 27 points on nine 3-pointers for Elon (5-5), which had won three in a row. Tanner Samson added 12 points.

WOMEN’S HOCKEY

UNION 2, MAINE 0: Union (6-11, 2-6) scored both of its goals on second-period power plays for a win over the University of Maine (1-13-5, 0-7-3) at Schenectady, N.Y.

Stephanie Thomson gave Union the lead 4:34 into the second and Courtney Turner added an insurance goal with 1:39 left in the period.

Union goalie Shenae Lundberg made 21 saves to shut out the Black Bears. Maine goaltender Meghann Treacy stopped 24 of 26 shots.

MEN’S SOCCER

MARYLAND AND Notre Dame will meet at 3 p.m. Sunday for the NCAA title in Chester, Pa.

In semifinal action, Patrick Mullins scored both goals as Maryland beat Virginia 2-1 while Patrick Hodan tallied twice in Notre Dame’s 2-0 triumph over New Mexico.
