BATH — The Morse High School boys freshman basketball team has been busy, starting the season with a 2-2 record.

The Shipbuilders opened with a 47-41 victory over Leavitt. Dakota Freeman had 12 points and Jeff Leighton eight, while Morse was 14 of 29 at the foul line.

Nick Angelo led the Hornets with 15 points.

In a 54-47 loss to Winslow, Tait Nygaard led Morse with 10 points, Freeman had nine and Ali Ali Faisalawi had eight. The Shipbuilders were three of 13 at the freethrow line.

Keon Earle paced Winslow with 19 points.

Morse rolled to a 50-19 win over Erskine Academy, getting 12 points from Freeman, 10 from Connor Upham and six from Nygaard.

Grayson Petty finished with sevens points for the Eagles.

Against Medomak Valley on Saturday, Morse fell behind 16-4 through a quarter, rallied to 24-13 at the half and 33-26 through three quarters before coming up short in a 40-37 loss.

Damond Osmond had 14 points for Morse, with Upham chipping in 10 and Freeman eight. The Shipbuilders struggled at the foul line, making just five of 21.

Nick Grover had a game-high 17 points for the Panthers.

Morse is scheduled to host Gardiner today.
