HARPSWELL’S AMERICAN LEGION POST 171 held its seventh annual Christmas party for Togus VA long-term care patients Dec. 13, above, with members of the Army National Guard, Marine Corps, Navy, Air National Guard and Coast Guard assisting patients at the pizza and lobster roll lunch and receiving individual gifts afterward. The Togus Veterans Village received three tablets with Skype so patients can communicate with family; Best Buy Manager Ray Poulin assisted in that purchase. Due to the efforts of Roy Knight, Gabor Lobster donated 20 pounds of picked lobster, which were fashioned into 90 lobster rolls by Debra Knight, Rachael Knight and Lisa True. Below, the USS Zumwalt crew attended the event, including, from left, Command Master Chief Dion Beauchamp, HT1 Stewart Simpson, MM3 Alexandro Bolanos, GSM1 Olie Betancourt, MM3 Juan Torres, EN1 Quincy Fry, MM3 Christopher Felardeau, GSM2 Kevin Larios and Commanding Officer Capt. James Kirk. They assisted patients at the pizza and lobster lunch and in opening individual gifts.
