NEW LIMERICK — Republican Gov. Paul LePage’s administration says a mill in northern Maine is expected to add 20 new jobs early next year.
LePage’s office says the Louisiana Pacific Corporation plant in New Limerick hired 41 new employees last year and is hoping to continue to grow in the new year.
The mill manufacturers building materials that are used in construction, repair and remodeling.
LePage says the company’s growth can be attributed in part to a rebounding housing market. He says Louisiana Pacific also invested $140 million in the plant several years ago to make it more efficient, which is now paying off.
