I had to write to say that it is about time someone said something about women having an abortion (“Letters to the editor: Abortion is an individual decision, not the public’s,” Dec. 7).

I want to thank letter writer James Joyce for speaking up for us women.

It is our body, and we should have the right to do what we want with our body. We know what we can handle and what we can take care of, and that is our right.

And I get a little sick of hearing about people having the right to harass people because it is called “freedom of speech.” I believe there is a fine line between that and being harassed.

We need to be open-minded and give women or anyone a break.
