CONCORD, N.H. — Just in time for Christmas — and a key deadline — New Hampshire has a new website to help educate consumers about buying insurance under the federal health care overhaul law.
Monday had been the deadline for buying coverage that starts Jan. 1, but it has been extended to Tuesday to accommodate a last-minute rush of applicants.
Tuesday also was the first day for CoveringNewHampshire.org, the website created to help New Hampshire residents explore their options.
Consumers won’t use the website to sign up for coverage — they must use the federal healthcare.gov website, call a federal helpline or visit an in-person assister.
But the site provides state-specific information about the 11 plans being offered, financial assistance, and where to find local help.
