SOUTH BERWICK — Matt Talbot made a couple key baskets in the fourth quarter and finished with 16 points as Portland held on for a 48-44 win over Marshwood in an SMAA boys’ basketball game Thursday night.

Marshwood (2-6) had a potential tying 3-pointer go in and out with 7 seconds left. Stephen Alex of Portland (9-0) made a foul shot with 4.2 seconds remaining to put the game out of reach.

Alex finished with 13 points.

Ryan O’Neil scored 13 points to pace Marshwood. Drew Bartlett and Brady Innes chipped in 12 points apiece.

BONNY EAGLE 54, GORHAM 38: Nick Dubay drained a pair of 3-pointers and Ben Malloy keyed the defense as the Scots (10-0) held Gorham (4-5) to five points in the third quarter to pull away for a win at Standish.

Bonny led 26-25 at halftime but widened the advantage to 40-30 entering the fourth quarter.

Dustin Cole’s 26 points powered Bonny Eagle’s offense. Malloy pulled down 10 rebounds.

Sam Kilborn topped the Rams with 20 points.

WELLS 61, KENNEBUNK 44: Jake Moody connected for 19 points and Chris Carney scored 14 to guide the Warriors (3-6) past the Rams (2-7) in Kennebunk.

Wells, up 37-34 entering the fourth quarter, quickly widened the lead to eight and used free throws to pull away.

Jack Lapham and Austin Sandler scored 15 points apiece for Kennebunk.

GREELY 62, YORK 32: Michael McDevitt scored 25 points to pace the Rangers (9-0) against the Wildcats (5-4) at York.

Conner Hanley added 16 points for Greely, which led 31-19 at halftime.

NORTH YARMOUTH ACADEMY 44, HYDE 42: Ryan Hemenway scored eight points in the fourth quarter, including a pair of 3-pointers, as the Panthers (6-2) overtook Hyde (5-1) in Yarmouth.

NYA trailed by two entering the final quarter but quickly gained the lead and then held off the Phoenix down the stretch.

Chase Gendron scored 15 for NYA. Hemenway and El Tayeb Dahia added 11 each.

Akim Sanni led the Phoenix with 14 points.

CAPE ELIZABETH 64, GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 52: Eddie Galvin scored nine of his 17 points in the third quarter as Cape Elizabeth (7-2) went on a 24-7 run to pull away from the Patriots (2-6) at Gray.

Jack O’Rourke added 18 points and Quinn Hewitt scored 13 for the Capers, who led 32-25 at halftime.

Gray-NG was paced by Andreas Kariotis with 20 points.

POLAND 65, OLD ORCHARD BEACH 46: Caleb Martin scored 11 of his 30 points in the first quarter as the Knights (5-4) built a 19-9 lead against the Seagulls (6-2) in Old Orchard Beach.

John Fossett scored 14 points for Poland.

Brian Roberts had 19 and Zach Seamans 13 for OOB.

LAKE REGION 84, FREEPORT 48: Nick Hall scored 20 points to pace the Lakers (5-4) over the Falcons (0-10) at Freeport.

Sam Smith added 17 points, including five 3-pointers, for Lake Region, which raced out to a 47-27 halftime lead.

Freeport was led by Jack Davenport with 22 points.

FALMOUTH 78, FRYEBURG ACADEMY 46: Tom Coyne scored 14 of his 26 points in the second quarter as the Yachtsmen (7-1) pulled away from the Raiders (4-4) at Fryeburg.

Nick Burton added 16 points and Jack Simonds scored 15 for Falmouth, who outscored Fryeburg 30-18 in the second quarter to extend its lead to 21 points.

The Raiders were led by Ryan Gullickson with 18 points, including four 3-pointers.

WAYNFLETE 83, A.R. GOULD 22: Milo Belleau made three 3-pointers and finished with 17 points as the Flyers (7-1) cruised to a win over the Bears (0-7) at South Portland.

Harry Baker-Connick added 11 points for Waynflete, which opened a 22-3 lead after one quarter.

BRUNSWICK 52, MESSALONSKEE 41: Derek Devereaux scored 16 points as the Dragons beat the Eagles at Oakland.

Blake Gordon added 11 points for Brunswick (6-4).

Nick Mayo scored 19 points for Messalonskee (7-3).

MORSE 55, LINCOLN ACADEMY 42: Ethan Winglass scored six of his 16 points in the first quarter as the Shipbuilders (8-2) opened with a 16-4 run and cruised past the Eagles (4-4) at Newcastle.

Chris Paulus added 13 points and Liam McDonough scored 11, including three 3-pointers.

Lincoln was paced by Allen Oliver and Devin Scherer with 11 points apiece.

OCEANSIDE 57, WATERVILLE 56: David Gould scored 16 points to help the Mariners (8-1) edged the Panthers (5-4) at Rockland.

Isaiah Stone-Patterson added 15 points and Nick Judge scored 14.

Owen Brown led Waterville with 22 points. Justin Jabar finished with 15.

MEDOMAK VALLEY 68, LEAVITT 53: Nicholas DePatsy scored 26 points to lead the Panthers (5-3) over the Hornets (2-7) at Turner.

Micah Williamson added 18 points, five assists and five steals.

LAWRENCE 68, LEWISTON 65: Dustin Simpson-Bragg scored 13 of his 15 points in the fourth quarter and overtime to lead the Bulldogs (6-4) to a win over the Blue Devils (4-6) in Lewiston.

BRUNSWICK 7, POLAND/GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 4: Jacob Parent scored three goals for the Dragons (5-2) in a victory over Poland/Gray-New Gloucester (2-5) at Brunswick.

Ethan Cailler had three goals and an assist for Poland/GNG.
