Mayor’s pizza manners spark mock outrage
New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio got his pizza with smoked mozzarella, sausage and a dash of scandal.
The new mayor unintentionally spiced up a political meeting at a Staten Island pizza joint Friday by digging into his slice with a knife and fork.
But that’s a no-no for many New Yorkers, who believe pizza should be folded and eaten with their hands.
Photos of a utensil-wielding de Blasio spread across Twitter and prompted mock outrage, some even calling for his impeachment.
De Blasio, who prides himself on his Italian-American heritage, later explained that he eats pizza the way they do in Italy. He starts with a knife and fork, then uses his hands.

‘Snake Salvation’ preacher won’t face criminal charges
A Tennessee preacher who used poisonous snakes in his religious practices won’t face criminal charges. But he also won’t get back the 53 serpents wildlife officials seized from his Tabernacle Church of God.
This past fall, Hamblin appeared on the National Geographic Channel reality show “Snake Salvation” as he danced while holding rattlesnakes and copperheads.
That appearance is what wildlife officials say tipped them off. Hamblin was charged with possession of Class 1 wildlife, a species inherently dangerous to humans.
