Traffic in both directions has resumed on Interstate 295 after a car fire and a crash disrupted travel during rush hour Wednesday.
A car fire in Yarmouth closed southbound lanes shortly after 4 p.m., Maine State Police police said. Those lanes have reopened.
There was no immediate word on whether anyone was injured or the cause of the fire.
Then, at 5:30 p.m. two cars crashed in Cumberland in the northbound lanes. There were no injuries and those lanes also are reported clear.
