LITTLETON, N.H. — The top floor of an historic inn in Littleton, N.H., has been severely damaged from a burst water pipe.
Crews are working to reopen Thayers Inn and Bailwick’s Fine Restaurant.
The burst pipe sent water tumbling down four stories and caused the restaurant ceiling to collapse on the bar Friday.
The Caledonian Record reports no injuries were reported, but the water did displace about eight hotel guests, who were sent to other establishments in town.
A small group of people was evacuated from Bailiwick’s.
The inn was established in 1843 and is listed on the National Register of Hist=oric Places.
Its guests have included U.S. presidents and presidential candidates as well as celebrities such as Bette Davis.
