Art gallery features Post van der Burg work

The Saccarappa Art Gallery, 861 Main St., will be featuring “Light on Form,” a collection of paintings by Melissa Post van der Burg, Susan Wilder, Dave Hall, Fred Michel, and Dennis Fournier, along with seven collective members.

The exhibit opens on Wednesday, Jan. 22, and continues through Saturday, March 1. The exhibit’s public reception is 5-8 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 24.

“In the Main Gallery, Post Van der Burg’s tightly-constructed and masterfully painted compositions featuring Maine people and settings elevate the commonplace toward a tender iconicity,” the gallery wrote in a press release.

The gallery will feature works by collective member Andy Curran, Mary Brooking, Jim Flahaven, Tanya Fletcher, Caren-Marie Michel, Susan Orfant, and Frank Valliere.

The gallery is open Wednesday-Saturday, noon-7 p.m., or by appointment. For more information, contact Curran, gallery director, at 591-7300 or email saccarappaart@gmail.com.
