Mr. Shinberg has suggested (“Foes push to keep lid on project in Bayside,” April 17, 2013) that it is “ ‘somewhat disingenuous’ for people to claim they support the project while opposing the height-limit increase …” and that “he suspects that most of the opposition is about the loss of views.”
Well, yes, it is about the loss of views. This is not, as Mr. Shinberg suggests, about snooty elitists from away trying to protect their views – this is about snooty developers from away trying to tell us we don’t need the views.
So much could be lost if more thought isn’t put into these projects. They will affect us for a long time to come. Thank you to Keep Portland Livable and Timothy Paradis and friends for their participation.
