Since I have been paying federal taxes all of my adult life, I expect some of those dollars to come back to my state to raise the quality of life for Maine people.

I was not happy that our governor turned down federal money as a protest of the Affordable Care Act. It is in the taxpayers’ best interests to accept these dollars because they came from us in the first place.

I do not have much control over federal expenditures like defense or homeland security, but we Mainers should have a say about Medicaid money. Our politicians should be serving all the people, not simply those who have company-paid health insurance.

Please reinstate the Mainecare money for all those who need it.
