SCARBOROUGH — A Downeaster Motel resident who tattooed two 14-year-old girls in his room last March was sentenced to three years in prison Jan. 17 after pleading guilty to a variety of charges in Cumberland County Unified Criminal Docket in Portland.

Joshua Grant, 36, pleaded guilty to two counts each of aggravated unlawful furnishing of scheduled drugs, placing tattoos on a person under 18, placing a tattoo without a license and possession of sexually explicit materials; and one count of unlawful sexual contact.

Grant, who also faces possible federal charges for probation violations, was sentenced to five years with all but three years suspended. He will be required to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.
