Before Sanford does anything, the city should have a Maine Turnpike entrance/egress (“Sanford theme park makes sense, experts say,” Jan. 22).
Route 109 from Wells is a speed trap and a heavily traveled route. Attempting to get from Wells to Sanford or from Sanford to Wells is a lesson in patience, to say the least.
As it is, trucks delivering to businesses in Sanford use routes 109, 99 (Kennebunk) and 111 (Biddeford). It must be nerve-wracking to try to make deliveries with those routes so heavily traveled.
Concentrate instead on making Sanford accessible with its own turnpike ramp and open the city to visitors, commuters and residents.
