AUGUSTA — Andrew Fleming scored 24 points to lead sixth-seeded Oxford Hills to a 44-41 win over No. 3 Bangor in an Eastern Class A boys’ basketball quarterfinal Saturday at the Augusta Civic Center.
Bangor (13-6) led 26-20 at halftime, but the Vikings (12-7) turned the game around with an 11-2 run in the third quarter. Fleming scored seven of Oxford Hills’ 11 points.
The Vikings protected their lead by making 7 of 8 free throws in the fourth quarter. Luke Davidson was 4 for 4 and finished with 10 points as Oxford Hills advanced to the semifinals for the first time in nine years.
Xavier Lewis led Bangor with 20 points, including 11 in the fourth quarter.
