KENNEBUNK — Rachel Bourassa, 79, of Kennebunk, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Feb. 13, 2014.

She was born in Biddeford, and lived there for most of her life, the daughter of Ernest and Irene (Girouard) Bourassa.

Rachel was employed for many years at the Hannaford Supermarket in the meat department as a wrapper. She also worked for Corning and AVX Technology Plants in Biddeford until her retirement.

Rachel was an avid TV watcher, she also loved doing crossword puzzles on a daily basis. She also enjoyed driving around to explore new places whenever time permitted.

She is survived by: two sisters, Lorraine Bourassa of Kennebunk, with whom she resided, and Priscille Laroche and her husband Rene of Florida; three brothers, Paul Bourassa of Florida, Donald Bourassa and his wife Theresa of South Portland and Robert Bourassa of Portland, Ore.; and several nieces and nephews.

There will be no visiting hours. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 17, 2014 at St. Joseph’s Church in Biddeford. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Biddeford. Arrangements are by Hope Memorial Chapel, 480 Elm St., Biddeford, ME 04005.
