SACO — Lucille M. Anderson, 89, of Clemson, S.C. and formerly of Saco, passed away late Sunday evening on Feb. 16, 2014, at Clemson Downs Nursing Home in Clemson, S.C.

She was born in Biddeford on June 12, 1924, a daughter of Charles and Elsie (Clegg) Morris.

She graduated from Biddeford High School, Class of 1941.

Lucille worked in the office at Saco Lowell Shops for four years. She was also employed by Dr. S. Dunton Drummond in Saco and as an office manager for Lewis Polackwich, Inc. in Biddeford for nine years. Later, she was a customer service representative for Continental Cable Service in Saco.

Lucille was a soloist for more than 50 years, singing in many of the churches throughout York County.

She served as the choir director at the Second Congregational Church in Biddeford. After moving to South Carolina in 1984, she became an attendant at Fort Hill Presbyterian Church and an associate member with the First Baptist Church in Clemson.

She was very active with different clubs at Clemson University, including I.P.T.A.Y. club, The Century Club and the Friends of the Brooks Center of Performing Arts. She was also an Utsey chamber music service member.

Lucille was preceded in death by: her first husband, Charles Mistos, in 1965, and her second husband, Gordon C. Anderson, in 2002; as well as two sons, Charles Mistos Jr. and David Mistos; and a sister, Barbara Lord.

She is survived by: her son, Jonathan Mistos and his wife Diane of Saco; her brother, Charles R. Morris of Sanford; two sisters, Mildred Forster of Connecticut and Charlene McFarland of Limerick; as well as many nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held in the spring at Laurel Hill Cemetery. Arrangements are by Cote Funeral Home, Saco. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Kennebunk Animal Welfare Society, 46 Holland Road, Kennebunk, ME 04043.
