SANFORD — The city’s budget committee will hold a public hearing at their meeting Thursday, set to begin at 6 p.m. in the council chambers, located on the third floor of City Hall.

At the meeting, budget committee members will set goals for their season, host the public hearing, and hear the proposed school expense budget for the first time. Superintendent David Theoharides said in his weekly report issued Sunday that, as yet, the department had no firm figures on how much state aid will be available. Sanford usually receives about $20 million from the state, and spends about $11 million in local dollars.
