LYMAN — Leo Paul Pinard, 72, of Lyman died Thursday, March 20, 2014 at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough, after a long illness.

He was born March 21, 1941 in Biddeford, a son of Henri J. and Marie-Ange (Laliberte) Pinard, and was educated locally.

He served our country in the United States Army from September 1959 to August 1962.

Leo Paul graduated from St. Louis High School, and after serving in the U.S. Army, attended Bentley College and earned his CPA.

He worked as a self-employed accountant for many years and retired due to illness in January of 2013.

He enjoyed gardening and had a great love of music. Leo Paul was a member of Painchaud’s Band, Alumni Band, the Sanford Band and the Barber Shop Quartet.

Surviving him are: his loving companion, Jeanne Martin of Biddeford; two daughters, Alice Barrus and her husband Josh of Seattle, Wash. and Rachel Alley and her husband Michael of Rochester, N.H.; two grandchildren, Mariah Alley and Avery Alley, both of Rochester, N.H.; seven brothers, Gerard Pinard and his wife Juanita of Los Angeles, Victor Pinard of Bangor, Ralph Pinard and his wife Priscille of Hollis, Emile Pinard and his wife Cathy of Biddeford, Albert Pinard and his wife Diana of Biddeford, Raymond Pinard and his wife Denise of Valencia, Calif., and Renald Pinard and his wife Judy of Lyman; two sisters, Rita Gagnon of Saco and Pauline Harris and her husband Richard of Freeport; and several nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be 9-11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at Hope Memorial Chapel. A memorial service will follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
