SACO — Gerard S. Levesque, 82, of Saco, passed away early Sunday morning on March 23, 2014, at his residence.

He was born in Canada on May 14, 1931, a son of Sylvio and Celina (Cyr) Levesque.

He was educated in schools in Canada.

Gerard married his wife, Claudette, on June 29, 1959.

He was employed as a lumberjack for many years, until 1970. He later worked for an auto body shop for 22 years, retiring in 1992.

His hobbies included making birdhouses and fixing lawnmowers.

Mr. Levesque was a parishioner of St. Joseph’s Church, Good Shepherd Parish, in Biddeford.

He is survived by: his wife, Claudette (Pelletier) Levesque of Saco; his son, Jacques Levesque and his wife Diane of Springvale; his daughters, Suzanne Nadeau and partner Roger Lehoux and Lynn Walsh, all of Saco; one brother, Melvin Levesque and his wife Claudette; four sisters, Rita Michaud, Jeanne Santarre and her husband Paulemile, Aghate Levesque and Claudette Levesque; and three grandchildren, Ghislain, Brandon and Nathan.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Saturday, March 29, 2014 at St. Joseph’s Church in Biddeford. Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Biddeford. Arrangements are Cote Funeral Home, Saco. To sign the guestbook or leave condolences to the family, go to www.cotefuneralhome.com.
